It's Never Too Late to Start Exercising
 
Exercise and physical activity are among the healthiest things you can do for yourself, but some older adults are reluctant to exercise.  They may be afraid that exercise will be too strenuos, or that physical activity will harm them.  Research shows the opposite is true.  Exercise is safe for people of all age groups, especially older adults.  Everyone hurts their health far more by not exercising than by exercising.  An inactive lifestyle can cause adults to lose ground in four areas that are important for staying healthy and independent; strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.
 
Even if you have had an inactive lifestyle, there is good news; it is never too late to improve your health.  Research suggest that exercise and physical activity can help you maintain or partly restore your strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.  Growing older doesn't mean you have to lose strength or your ability to do everyday tasks.  Exercise can help older adults feel better and enjoy life more, even those who think they are too old or too out of shape.
 
To get started you will need moderate aerobic exercise for 30 minutes a day 3-5 days a week, strength training 2-3 days a week and flexibility 3-5 days a week.  Here at Rock Solid Personal Training Studio we use many fun and different tools to help you achieve better health and improve;

Silver Fitness Classes - Keep your heart healthy with this low-impact aerobic workout program that is designed for any mature adult that is either new to exercise or just needs something on the lighter side.  The mini-trampoline with a bar if needed and a chair are incorporated in this workout for standing and seated support-enabling you to push yourself as far as you want.  Get and stay strong with this body-sculpting, mature adult workout program, that uses resistance bands that will increase muscular strength and endurance.  The classes will reduce muscle tension and improve range of motion with the use of basic stretch and yoga moves.  We will also use the stability ball to help you  gain better balance and strengthen your core muscles.  These exercises will help decrease the number of falls, the risk for falling and the fear of falling, and improve functional balance and physical performance.
